I strongly believe that all those who live in the cities, should take a moment away from it all. Round up your friends, plan it out, pack your bag and head-on. I say friends, well, because unlike some I don't have a family or family members who function as per a 'normal family' ideal, taking trips and holidays together hasn't been our thing; at least not since the year 2000.
I only state it as a fact, and I hope that by being transparent about myself I don't discourage you from reading on further.
The year is 2017, and although I'm only just twenty-eight, I can't help but feel ancient as I remember a time where people could actually spare time to getaway for a few days. Solo, sans family or friends, or perhaps with that someone special. But now, life's turned into race that seems un-ending; in order to stay on top of things, one's either cramming for exams or wading through events to build an advantageous network; the brain is on constant overdrive.
Of course many, like myself, frequent the nearby watering-hole a.k.a. bar and call it relaxing. Truth be told, that's anything but relaxing. That might be whole lot of fun, but definitely not relaxing.
So, here I am, posting about my recent trip to a friend's farm, in this place called Bhor.
We arrived in Bhor via a moonlit drive, a 2 hour drive. Cool breeze, scent of the wet red mud moistened by the rain and sweet silence. The sweetest silence that truly makes one feel at peace instantaneously. The last time I'd been here was earlier in the year, at the peak of the Indian summer; now it is monsoon.
Couldn't do much on arriving, since it was dark and the only source of light was the moon. We settled in our rooms and prepared dinner. Plain and simple food: Dal, Chaaval, Roti, Sabzi and Papad. Played a round of UNO and called it a night.
The next morning as I woke up, I couldn't help but stare amazed at the greenery that surrounded me. Such a drastic change from the dry red of the summers. Everywhere I turned, all I could see was green, in an assortment of hues.
The rain has breathed new life into this place, it feels alive. The rustle of the leaves in the non-stop breeze, as if people whispering; the pitter-patter of the raindrops on the roof, as if people tap-dancing. This place truly feels alive.
Every half an hour or so the rain would let up, allowing me opportunity to walk around the vast expanse of the farmland. All that green was most soothing to my eyes and most refreshing.

I don't know how many would agree, there's something special about waking up at a farm and enjoying that steaming cup of coffee or tea. No matter how long I stood there entranced at the view that lay in my sight, it wasn't enough. I wanted to just keep looking, focusing on as many minute details of the landscape as I could.
But of course, Bhor has more sights & splendors to offer, other than the views of this farmhouse. Snapping out of the sleepiness that was still hovering over us, my friends and I got ready, Moony in-toe and we set off to the explore.
Refreshed and changed, splashed on a mixture of 'HUGO Man' and 'BOSS Bottled Intense'. Never travel outta town without this duo.
The roads were serpentine, winding roads that kept us swerving from left to right and back, in our seats. Moony, Sheri's pet dog, was restless. She also wanted to see anything and everything that we passed by.
As we drove around, Neha insisted on stopping at a waterfall or stream, of which there are a plenty through the course of the monsoon season. And so we did, I'm glad!

After a good while of wading through the cool water, we continued driving to the Ring Road. It's named rightly so, since the road does go around fields and streams, almost in a circle. It can take up to 3 hours to complete this scenic drive of the Ring Road, well worth it!
Talking wasn't necessary, I'm thankful for that! I was in no mood for chit-chat as we drove around. I was lost, in absolute awe of the beauty in all that I saw.
We made stops every now & then to stretch our legs and just look around. Till it was time to head back to the farmhouse.
Good music, great company, occasional jokes and some of the most spectacular sights I've ever had the chance to witness.
Well, what you waiting for?
I know you're over-worked, stressed and need some serious time off from the din of your crowded world. Take heed, figure some time away from whatever it is that is making you bonkers.
You want it! You need it! You deserve it!
