DeeZzz Closet: Casual, Carefree & Comfortable

DeeZzz Closet:

Casual, Carefree & Comfortable

Your closet is a trove of treasures that helps you dress how you feel. Many don't regard it as something of importance, I on the other hand, perceive things differently.

My craze for clothes, bags and shoes is a love affair that will last my lifetime.

Let's get one thing clear, I detest formal clothing; however, there have been instances where I had to, Diwali and Dussera being two prime examples, wear formal attire: Indian Ethnic for Diwali, Western Formal for Formal Dinners and so on.

I have my set of three C's which set the guidelines:
  • Casual
  • Carefree
  • Comfortable
There you have it, three simple words that sum up the mood of my closet.

Most of my friends consider me to be a brand freak, far from it. Yes it's true that a lot of my outfits are from brands such as Zara, H&M, Calvin Clein, Guess etc; but I also have quite an assortment of clothes from thrift stores, street side vendors etc.

Wardrobe Must Have's:

  • An abundance of t-shirts
  • A minimum of 3 - 7 denims(denim shorts included) in an array of colors and shades and design.
  • 4-6 Formal stiff-collar shirts.
  • At least 3 pairs of half pants.
  • 2 sets of formal trousers.
  • A Dinner Jacket
  • At least 2 sets of suits.
  • Mufflers/Scarves, ties, belts, inner-wear & socks, however many one can acquire.
  • At least 2 jackets.
  • A jumper.
That's it!

The list above, is what I believe to be the bare-minimum essentials for the wardrobes of people with able spending capacity. My childhood wasn't a time where shopping a healthy seasonal wardrobe would get my folk fuming, and by folk I mean Baju: my mother and father for all intent and purpose, although technically my paternal grandmother.

...with Baju, at my 18th birthday celebrations. (April-2006)

Growing up in Dehradun, I got into a bi-annual ritual of buying a whole change in wardrobe, every four to six months. After shifting to Pune, the ritual a ritual no more. The winter's aren't as cold and summers are almost desert; monsoons are a disaster.

My way of shopping for the closet changed game; once every two to three months and in between an item or two that might have distinctly caught my eye.

Here are some of the OOTDs, and most I think they do justice to the three C's.
